Nokia 7.1 With PureDisplay Screen Launched in India for Rs 19,999

HMD Global has launched the Nokia 7.1 in India, and it will go on sale in the country starting December 7. The successor to the Nokia 7 from last year, it has a new and modern design, a superior display, and improved camera hardware thanks to dual Zeiss lenses.

Nokia 7.1 Launch Date and Price in India

This time around there’s no e-commerce exclusivity for the Nokia 7.1 smartphone and it will be available at mobile retail outlets in India and on Nokia’s online store. The Nokia 7.1 is priced at Rs 19,999.

Nokia 7.1 Features

The Nokia 7.1 includes a 5.84-inch Full-HD+ screen, with a small notch – quite similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, but the key highlight here is the introduction of the PureDisplay screen technology. PureDisplay automatically adjusts brightness and contrast to lighting conditions, increase the sunlight visibility, and up-scales non-HDR content to stream HD content from YouTube, as well as Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Unlike the Nokia 8.1, the Nokia 7.1 is powered by the Snapdragon 636 processor, paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
In the optics department, the device packs a Zeiss-backed dual rear-camera module, which includes a 12MP primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) and secondary 5MP depth sensor. There’s also an 8MP selfie shooter, which will come in handy for Nokia’s popular Bothie mode. You get many AI features, Pro camera mode, Live Bokeh and many other features.

This device, like every other Nokia-branded smartphone, is part of Google’s Android One program and it runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. It’s, however, disappointing to see as the company has already released Android Pie stable builds and could have launched Nokia 7.1 with the same. The update will land sometime in November, says HMD Global.
There’s also a modest 3,060mAh battery in tow, along with usual connectivity options including a USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. You even get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head, India, HMD Global, said, “We know a lot of our fans in India enjoy creating videos and watching content on their smartphones. That’s why it was important for us to bring both ZEISS optics and PureDisplay technology together in a versatile device that offers a superior content experience, regardless of whether you’re taking photos for your social media or watching the latest series on your favourite streaming service.”

Nokia 7.1 Specifications

The Nokia 7.1 follows in the footsteps of the recent Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus with a glossy glass-sandwich design. The device features a 6000 series aluminum frame, with 84% glass used across the board, which makes the Nokia 7.1 look gorgeous and tempting to pick up.

Alleged Sony Xperia XZ4 CAD-Based Renders Show Off Triple Cameras

Sony made two major announcements of its flagships this year, and it looks like the third one is already here. After witnessing Xperia XZ2 at MWC 2018 and later catching the XZ3 at IFA 2018, we might have already gotten some hints about what the Xperia XZ4 might look like.

Sony Xperia XZ4 is expected to come with a triple camera setup on the back, which is likely to add a slight camera bump quite similar to the OnePlus 6 or 6T. This will a big leap from the single camera on the XZ3. However, the camera on the front will still be a solo sensor.

                               Courtesy: OnLeaks & MySmartPrice
Trusted leakster @OnLeaks, in partnership with MySmartPrice, has released renders of the Sony Xperia XZ4 based on leaked CAD (computer-aided design) profiles or digital blueprints of the device. Reliable CAD-based design leaks in the past, including those of the Pixel 3 duo, by the duo suggests that the design may be identical to this when it actually launches at MWC next year.

On the front, lies a 6.5-inch display but it does not have a notch. While I personally feel that is still a good thing because notches (and even slider mechanism) appear stopgap solutions to increase the screen real-estate, the Sony flagship takes a hit when it comes to screen-to-body ratio – in comparison to other flagship smartphones.
                               Courtesy: OnLeaks & MySmartPrice
While the jump from a single to triple cameras on the back means that the image quality on the smartphone will improve significantly, currently there is no information about the specification of each of these sensors as well as their uses. Meanwhile, the Xperia XZ4 does not have a headphone jack while the fingerprint scanner is embedded under the flattened power button on the side.
We’ll bring you more information about the Sony Xperia XZ4 as we learn more but right now you’ll have to satisfy your curiosity by just looking at the pictures.

Huawei Teases Phone With Punch-Hole Front Camera For December Launch

While Huawei is ready to create waves with the launch of Mate 20 Pro in India tomorrow, the Chinese giant is now looking to pip Samsung with the unveiling of a new smartphone that includes a punch-hole front camera in China in December.

Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy A8s will be launching with an Infinity-O display (with a hole for an under-glass selfie camera), but Huawei has now posted the teaser image attached below on its Weibo profile, hinting at the arrival of a phone with a hole for the camera near the top left corner.

👉🏻 Know More :- 🔥Why Phones "Explode" Sometimes, and What you can do to Protect Yourself* 🔥

This is the first time we’re hearing of a Huawei device coming with a camera hole in the display and the teaser also mentions that the device is coming in December. The rumor mill is now abuzz with speculation over which phone it could be and the popular opinion hints towards Nova 4 – a premium flagship and a successor to the Nova 3 that launched earlier in 2018.
This means we only that the device will be powered by Huawei’s latest flagship chipset, Kirin 980 and nothing else. However, this teaser does make two things very clear. The company is looking to get rid of the notch and appears to be in no mood to cede its pole position in the global smartphone market. It is ready to take on Samsung by launching an Infinity-O display-backed device before the Galaxy S10 (or Galaxy A8s).
So, are you excited for the launch of this Huawei smartphone? Or does the Galaxy S10 lineup pique your interest even more? Let us know in the comments down below.

LG Granted Patent For Phone with 16 Cameras

Samsung recently launched the new Galaxy A9, which carries as many as four cameras at the back. If that sounded that like an overkill, which it really is, then you might be surprised to see what LG has been cooking.
According to a new patent that was spotted by LetsGoDigital, it looks like LG is working on a smartphone with 16 lenses. No, that’s not a typo.
Render based on LG’s patent (Image: LetsGoDigital)
The patent says that the lenses will be arranged in 4×4 matrix layout at the back, similar to the module found on the Mate 20 Pro that’s slated to arrive in India this week. The patented technology will apparently allow LG to capture 3D moving pictures. We’re not entirely sure what these 3D moving pictures will look like, but it sounds very interesting.

Reportedly, the technology will also allow make it easier to remove/ replace objects in a photo, thanks to all the additional data that’s collected while taking the shots. The most interesting part, however, is the fact that LG is planning to add a mirror at the bottom of the lenses to make it easier for the users to take selfies. The way I see it, LG is planning to skip front-facing camera entirely in favor of an edge-to-edge display.
3D scanning with the 16-camera module (Image: USPTO)
As is the case with any other patent, it is hard to tell if this kind of a smartphone will make its way to the market anytime soon. I am sure cramming 16 lenses on a smartphone would be just as complicated as it sounds. That being said, I am pretty pumped to see how LG tackles the challenges.
In the meantime, let me know your thoughts on this. Do you think we really need these many lenses? Also, I am curious to know how many lenses are there in your smartphone? So, be sure to comment down below.

Microsoft Overtakes Apple to Become Most Valuable US Company

Microsoft has become the most valuable US company with $753.3 billion in market capitalization, riding past Apple for the first time since 2010 when it came close to the Cupertino-based tech giant.

Apple, which became the first $1-trillion US company in August, came down to $746.8 billion on Friday, owing to lower-than-expected iPhone sales amid reports of its suppliers cutting cost and workforce.
Amazon with $736.6 billion is currently at third and Alphabet (the parent company of Google) with $725.5 billion is at the fourth spot.
With Microsoft now overshadowing all three, including Alphabet Inc, the firm now looks to be the most valuable tech company of the Silicon Valley giants,” mspoweruser.com reported.

The investors are now betting big on companies with robust Cloud services and software services which are witnessing an increased demand from big and small enterprises the world over for their digital journey, at a time when giants like Facebook and Google face intense scrutiny for users’ data practices.
Riding on its growing Azure Cloud, gaming and Surface laptop portfolio, Microsoft posted a revenue of $29.1 billion and net income of $8.8 billion for the first quarter of its 2019 financial results.
Revenue was up 19 per cent while net income increased by 34 per cent. Operating income was $10 billion and increased 29 per cent.
“We are off to a great start in fiscal 2019, a result of our innovation and the trust customers are placing in us to power their digital transformation,” CEO Satya Nadella said in a statement.
Revenue in Intelligent Cloud was $8.6 billion and increased 24 per cent. Server products and Cloud services revenue increased 28 per cent driven by Azure revenue growth of 76 per cent, Microsoft informed.
Revenue in More Personal Computing was $10.7 billion and increased 15 per cent.
“Windows commercial products and Cloud services revenue increased 12 per cent,” said the company.
Microsoft’s gaming revenue increased 44 per cent with Xbox software and services revenue growth of 36 per cent while Surface revenue increased 14 per cent.
On the other hand, slower-than-expected demand has reportedly led Apple to direct its top phone assemblers, Foxconn and Pegatron, to halt a planned production boost for iPhone XR, a relatively cost-effective model that hit the shelves late last month.
Foxconn, a Taiwan-based company, would produce around 100,000 fewer units daily to reflect the new demand outlook, down 20-25 per cent from the original optimistic outlook, Japanese financial paper Nikkei reported earlier this week.
The estimates of iPhone XR have been cut by nearly 30 million shipments, according to an Apple analyst.
Ming Chi-Kuo, an Apple analyst working with TF International Securities, said earlier this month that shipment forecast for the iPhone XR has been cut from 100 million units to 70 million units during the product lifecycle.
