The householders were staunch followers of Gandhiji

Dr. Vikram Sarabhai's full name was Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai, who played an important role in launching the country's space program after independence. He was born on 12 August 1919 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He belonged to the famous industrialist Sarabhai family. The people of his household were staunch followers of Gandhiji. Vikram Sarabhai was married to the famous dancer Mrinalini Devi. The people of his house could not even attend his wedding because at that time they were busy with the Quit India movement under the leadership of Gandhiji. His sister Mridula Sarabhai played an important role in India's freedom struggle.

Abdul Kalam's talent enhanced

After independence, India, weakened by economic and military power, was strengthened by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai in every way. Today, due to these contributions, we are moving fast in the field of space, missile and rocket power. Dr. Sarabhai played a key role in nurturing his talents in the early phase of Dr. Abdul Kalam 's former President of the country, known as Missile Man . Dr. Kalam himself once said that he was a newcomer in that field. Dr. Vikram Sarabhai took great interest in him and nurtured his talent.
Vikram Sarabhai was awarded the Bhatnagar Prize in Peace in 1962. He was honored with Padma Bhushan in 1966 and Padma Vibhushan (posthumously) in 1972.

Died under suspicious circumstances

Dr. Vikram Sarabhai went to Thumba with his colleagues on December 20, 1971. A Russian rocket was to be launched there. Seeing the preparations there throughout the day, he returned to his resort, he died suddenly in the same night. Although the country's first satellite Aryabhata was launched after his death at the age of 52, the foundation was laid by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. Unfortunately, the cause of his death has not been ascertained till date.
